Cherry Picker helping with Power Outages

Image
This was a memorable act of kindness on the part of a community-conscious company. With loadshedding affecting our economy it’s nice to remember a company like SA Platforms that offered to solve a power outage problem in the Risiville/Three Rivers East & Property Community in the past. A HUGE BIG Thanks to https://www.facebook.com/SAPlatforms/ for sponsoring the cherry picker for BXC to use in our Ward .... We applaud SA Platforms for reaching out and helping. Since those days the power outage problems have increased. I hope it hasn’t been too bad for that community lately. But in spite of these adverse circumstances the people managing SA Platforms have still continued to offer the incredible service that they have always given to companies needing cherry pickers/lifting platforms. In a competitive market they have managed to keep going because they are good at what they are doing. Remember, if you want to do work at height where a cherry picker is necessary, you can contact...

Lifting Platforms - Work at Height

Image
When You Need to Work at Height It starts with an idea. A big project. The idea is a solution to a need. The need could be new headquarters for a company. When I drive towards the R24 freeway from my home I notice huge complexes that have been erected recently where there used to be empty spaces next to the highway. Some of them are warehouses and some factories. Nevertheless, all required roofs and some other structures or fittings much higher than ground level.  In cases like these you can find the right solution when you search online and come across a leading lifting platform company like the one I found. They had the following to say:  “So, you need to work at height, but you need a platform or something to work on because it is out of reach. The usual or obvious choice that comes to mind is to build a scaffold as your working platform.   To hire scaffolding can be quite costly but it comes with limitations and can be expensive and time-consuming to put in...

Cherry Picker - Good Deed

Image
A post from October 2018 about my favourite client just came to mind this afternoon. The post that I wrote about what they did for their community attracted a lot of readers and must have created a lot of goodwill for that cherry picker company. During this time of COVID-19 lock-down it’s important that we remember such generous acts from people who care about others. SA Platforms, a fantastic client of mine, sponsored a cherry picker to assist with a power outage problem in the  Risiville/Three Rivers East & Property Community . They are people with big hearts and I'm proud to be associated with them. I have promoted their  services  before and this proves that SA Platforms is a community-conscious company that can be trusted to deliver valuable services at all times. Below is a copy of a message thanking them for their assistance. A HUGE BIG Thanks to  https://www.facebook.com/SAPlatforms / for sponsoring the cherry picker for BXC to use in ou...

Congratulations SA Platforms

Image
Congratulations SA Platforms on your recent joint venture with the Dickinson Group in Zambia. It was an important milestone in 2018. When assistance was needed in your community you were there to help. You trained many operators of cherry pickers how to work proficiently and safely with lifting platforms. Then, you provided excellent service in the rental and sales of cherry pickers. May your Christmas be blessed and 2019 be a year of great opportunities to spread your services into new markets where you will continue to lift them safer and higher.

Cherry Picker For Safe Access To Heights

Image
Cherry pickers are ideal for routine inspections, cleaning or maintenance tasks, working at heights. They are generally used in the construction, mining, metals smelting, and mineral processing industries to name but a few. The safety of workers is of prime importance with falls from heights and falling objects being the leading cause of fatal injuries on worksites in many parts of the world; safety has to centre stage in all working at working at heights tasks, followed by efficiency and cost-effectiveness. Cherry pickers are rapidly replacing traditional access systems such as ladders, scaffolding, bosun’s chairs, and rope swings, which are time-consuming, expensive and often dangerous to use. Recently The Dickinson Group of Companies announced the establishment of its latest joint venture with SA Platforms (Pty) Ltd. The two South African Headquartered companies have joined forces to establish SA Platforms (Zambia) Ltd; a Zambian registered company that will extend the ra...

Cherry Picker Specialist

Image
The first time I came across the term cherry picker I pictured workers in a field picking cherries with the sun high in a blue sky, similar to what I have seen in the movies. Somehow I had it wrong because a cherry picker is a magnificent piece of technology that people use to access objects high above the ground, sometimes in maintenance and sometimes in construction - not just limited to those. The picture on the left gives you an idea of just how high these cherry pickers can lift working crew above the ground - it makes me dizzy just thinking of being in that cage at the top. Well, that's how some people make a living being hoisted high up in the air to reach the structures they are building, cleaning or fixing. There are many types of cherry picker machines, some of which are trailer mounted and driven by diesel motors or electric or even both. To get a better idea of some of the most popular machines you can go to http://www.saplatforms.co.za to have a look. The compan...
