Remaining Creative - Easter Weekend

Colourful flowers from my garden

Today is the day after Good Friday. Yesterday I enjoyed a fabulous Good Friday. My wife and I went to church and were treated to an excellent service after which we went to check out what's happening at our local shopping centre because the Pick n Pay had suddenly closed forcing us to drive further to other shops to buy our bread, milk, and groceries - very inconvenient. Fortunately, we were told that a Checkers is soon opening.

We then went home but before we were there we decided to go to Evergreens shop to buy cake to enjoy with our tea. As we were about to enter the premises but found that it was locked with security guards patrolling the place. We had to leave feeling disappointed and wondering what's going on in our country. Massive shops and shopping groups just closing or not being open for business as usual! Very odd!

In the meantime I had photographed some flowers in our garden and a yellow one that was growing in front of the main gate. When we arrived home I continued working on my flower composition which I will print and frame for my wife. I would normally first think of painting it but this time I will just make a print of this picture on my own printer and we will have flowers to admire in our home. It will definitely brighten things up wherever I hang it and never fade and die (as natural plants in the garden do).

At noon we drove to my son's house not far away and we chatted while he was preparing lunch. He has been preparing to participate in a cycling event later towards the end of the year where they see how far you can ride your bicycle in 24 hours. He is planning to reach 300 kilometres. The event is called the Munga - an endurance event.

When lunch was ready we sat down for a real treat enjoying a leg of lamb, potatoes with dates, and a delicious salad. After that we had tea and three different varieties of cakes. By that time Maggie and I couldn't eat anymore and we struggled to stay awake. A while later we went home and fell asleep on our Lazy Boy couches. Nothing wrong with that because we are usually very active people so a bit of off-time was well deserved.

This morning I woke up with more ideas to add to my Frasers Lesotho book. That's what I will be working on in a while after I finish this article. So, I painted a little bee just for kicks, fun, and practice which you can see below. I didn't try and make it perfect.
