The next Johannesburg Karate Gasshuku will be held on 8 September 2018. For more information, you can go to the website to get more details.
There is no doubt that anyone who is a karateka earns our respect. There have been many movies depicting the sheer brilliance of individuals defending themselves against attackers with martial arts techniques, usually bare-handed. One particular film star that comes to mind is my favorite, Jackie Chan. I love watching the guy going bananas ducking and diving and kicking his way out of several attackers. I just Googled some facts about Jackie Chan and discovered that he is a black belt in Hapkido and also knows other martial arts as well. To the uninformed like me, it all seems like karate, but I am probably insulting the martial arts purists when I make statements like that.
However one looks at the sport of karate and martial arts you have to agree on one thing. You don't mess with those guys because you are going to get your butt kicked go…

SAFETY WORKWEAR THAT PROTECTS YOU

Image
Workmaster Safety Workwear is vital when it comes to safety on the job.

My first job after school was at the Iron and Steel Corporation, ISCOR, in Vanderbijlpark. My brother-in-law, Arnold, was the motivating factor behind that move.

At the plant, I was issued with a hard hat, overalls, safety boots with steel toecaps, thick leather safety gloves and protective eyewear. Heck, what was I letting myself in for? I was instructed to wear those items because they were necessary for protection.

When I clocked in I was shown my first station and I saw massive slabs of white-hot steel moving along conveyors with rollers. This was inside a gigantic corrugated iron structure that seemed to stretch for miles.

One day I was ordered to remove some slag from a roller on the conveyor. Even with my full protection on I made a mistake and my exposed fore-arm above the glove touched the hot metal and I got burned. I misjudged the heat of the guide rail and suffered the consequences. After that, I had g…

Racing Cars - Dyno Tuning

Image
During the 60’s and 70’s, I fancied cars like the Ford Capri with a Gunston paint scheme and fat mags. Also, the imported left-hand-drive Mustangs. With the introduction of the Ford Granada, my brother bought one with a hearse gearshift. A lovely beast of a car which I drove once. It had a powerful, throaty V-8 engine that sent shivers down my spine.

We used to love going to the saloon car races at Kyalami. From my seat in the grandstand, I had always had a bird’s eye view over a large part of the track. I could see a lot of the action and caught the excitement when the cars came roaring past. It was a great time for me.

One day, long after that, I was invited to Kyalami again to experience a lap in an Opel Calibri – my favourite car at that time. Behind the wheel was one of South Africa’s champ drivers. He was very skilled and put the Calibri through its paces while I sat in the back with another guest. That gave me a totally different perspective of what it’s like to drive the car …

WHAT THE COMPANY DOES

Protection Guard dogs are without a doubt the most efficient and cost-effective way to guard your property or premises. A well-trained security dog can replace at least 3 guards.

Our dogs are trained to respond at command, if and when it may be required.

We at The Doggz prefer to use German Shepherds, Rottweilers, and/or Belgian Shepherds ( Malinois) for our Protection Canine Training. These dogs are fearless, alert, courageous, obedient, and eager to learn.

They are extremely brave and faithful and will not think twice about putting their lives on the line.

They are very loyal to their handlers, which makes them the perfect candidates for protection and security. We train the handlers to treat the animals in a firm, confident and consistent way.

At The Doggz we have one focus - client satisfaction!
